Forged is an online retailer of premium car accessories, operating in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information you provide when using our website or placing an order.

• Place an order: name, delivery address, email address, and payment information (processed securely by Shopify, not stored by us directly).

• Use the reg lookup: your vehicle registration number, used only to identify your vehicle in real time. We do not store registration numbers.
• Browse our site: anonymous usage data collected via cookies (page views, time on site, referring pages).

How we use your data

• To process and fulfil your orders, including passing your delivery address to our fulfilment partners.
• To send order confirmations and shipping updates by email.
• To respond to your support enquiries.
• To identify your vehicle when you use the registration lookup tool.
• To improve our website and understand how customers use it.

We will only send you marketing emails if you have given us explicit consent to do so. You can opt out at any time.

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Contract: processing your order and delivering your purchases.
• Legitimate interests: improving our site, preventing fraud, and responding to support requests.
• Consent: sending marketing communications (where you have opted in).

Third parties we share data with

• Shopify: our e-commerce and payment platform. Shopify processes and stores your order and payment data securely. See Shopify's privacy policy.
• Delivery couriers: your name and delivery address are passed to our shipping partner to fulfil your order.
• DVLA and DVSA: when you use the reg lookup tool, your registration number is sent to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT History API to retrieve vehicle information. This data is not stored by us.
• Vercel: our website is hosted on Vercel's infrastructure. No personal data is stored by Vercel beyond standard server logs.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

How long we keep your data

• Order records are retained for 7 years to comply with HMRC requirements.
• Support enquiries are kept for up to 2 years.
• If you withdraw consent for marketing, we will stop sending emails within 30 days and remove you from our mailing list.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep your shopping cart working across pages. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect checkout functionality.
